Hospital History

        In the 15th year of Guangxu emperor of the Qing dynasty (1889), British Protestant churches set up “ Yinghua Hospital” in Dongmutoushi, the then only west medicine hospital run by a church in northwestern China.
        Following the founding of the People’s Republic of China (1951), it was renamed “Xi’an Guangren Hospital” pursuant to the cooperation agreement reached by the Christianity in Shaanxi and Xi’an Public Health Bureau.
       One year later, it was renamed “ Xi’an Municipal No.4 People’s Hospital” following the taking-over by the Bureau in accordance with the instruction of Xi’an Municipal People’s Government. And from then on, it was incorporated into the system of state-owned public health intuitions
       In 1960, it was renamed “Xi’an No.4 Hospital”, and now it is “Guangren Hospital Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University”.
